“Gurugram has the highest per capita car ownership, almost three times that of Delhi that was earlier regarded as the car capital of the country. In addition, Gurugram also registers 50,000 motor vehicles every year. Therefore, it wasn’t surprising that in February this year the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), adjudged Gurgaon as the most polluted among the country’s 28 urban centers.”
