“They fight bitterly to outsmart each other in politics but in the Supreme Court on Thursday, the governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi were on the same page on imposition of hefty fee on polluting trucks passing through Delhi. Solicitor general Ranjit Kumar for the Union government and Dushyant Dave for the Delhi government told a bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu that they have agreed with amicus curiae Harish Salve’s suggestion to levy an additional Rs 1,200 on big trucks and Rs 600 on light commercial vehicles which use Delhi as transit route for their final destination…” The Times of India.
