Delhi would be joining Gurgaon to fight air pollution and free roads from traffic congestion. Like the millennium city, Delhi government has decided to observe ‘Car Free Day’ on the road stretch between Red Fort and India Gate on October 22 to encourage people to use public transport in the national capital. Addressing a conference on ‘Congestion and Pollution Free Delhi’, Transport Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday said that no car will be allowed on this stretch on October 22, a day when people will celebrate Dussehra. The minister added, “We will ensure that on the 22nd of every month, we observe ‘Car Free Day’ on different road stretches so that we will be able to observe ‘World Car free Day’ across Delhi on September 22 next year.” I am in dna of New Delhi (Iamin.in).
