“At least 60% of the 249 Indian cities, where air pollution is monitored, have recorded an increase in the level of particulate matter that can cause maximum damage to lungs. According to an analysis of the air pollution monitoring data by the ministry of environment, forests and climate change, the levels of PM10 (particulate matter), which affects people more than any other pollutant in the air, has gone up in the last three years. According to the analysis, the annual average levels of PM10 for 2011, 2012 and 2013 have exceeded in 148, 137 and 152 cities, respectively.” LiveMint.
