Civic bodies propose hike in parking fee to clean up Delhi’s air: The Times of India

“Municipal corporations have proposed a hike in parking charges, particularly during peak hours, as a means to keep vehicles off the roads and reduce the city’s air pollution. Green experts, however, dismissed some of these ‘solutions’ as empty talk and doubted if the civic bodies could implement the hikes.
Responding to National Green Tribunal’s queries on how to address air pollution, East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has suggested that rates for authorized roadside parking should be at least double that of a multilevel parking complex, in case there is one within 200 metres of the area.” The Times of India.
